What lies beneath; Assessing the health of Ireland’s rivers and lakes

Enniscorthy Library, Lymington Road, Templeshannon, Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland

Ireland’s freshwaters are host to an amazing world of animals, plants and other organisms. These organisms, many of whom are dependent on good water quality, can tell us much about our environment.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Ecologist, Hugh Feeley describes some of the wonderful web of life that exists just below the surface of our lakes, rivers and streams and details how the EPA uses this scientific information as part of its on-going assessment and monitoring of the ecology of Ireland’s freshwaters.

Event for adults and students. Phone: (053) 9236055 to book. This event is part of the WexSci Wexford Science Festival. Please visit the festival website for more information.
