Shielbaggan Outdoor Education and training Centre is one of Irelands’ oldest adventure providers.
Situated at the base of the picturesque Hook peninsula we offer a large selection of activities for families and individuals of all ages.

At Shielbaggan Outdoor Education Centre, you can try your hand at Kayaking (white water, sea and flat water), Canoeing, Coasteering, Surfing, Hillwalking, Rock-Climbing, Caving, Archery, Orienteering, and Team Building.

Our instructors are amongst the best qualified and most experienced in the country and we run courses from beginners off Baginbun beach to expert paddling in Slovenia. We are also Ireland’s premier Coasteering Centre, running adventures for families through to instructor training. The Hook peninsula is probably Ireland’s best Coasteering venues with jumps, Caves and slots to explore in the fossil rich limestone.

We also have a fleet of expedition sea kayaks and you can be led by an instructor who has paddled round Ireland and written environmental textbooks.

All through the summer we provide what we believe are the ultimate summer camps. Kayak with instructors who have been dropped off in remote gorges by helicopter, or climbers who have climbed a vertical mile, and are highly qualified. Start your kids on a lifetime of adventure and we guarantee they will sleep!
