2026 marks the 50th anniversary of 2 classic rock albums: Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy and 2112 by Rush. Touring together in 1976 as labelmates, the pressure was on both bands to deliver breakout albums that summer. 

Each would become career-defining releases. 

 

Jailbreak spawned iconic hits such as ‘The Boys Are Back in Town’, ‘Emerald’, ‘Cowboy Song’, and the title track, as the band emerged from the shadow of earlier releases to claim international recognition. 

 

2112 flew in the face of convention and expectation: a fiery, powerhouse of an album that featured a 20-minute suite chronicling the story of one man raging against the system in the not-so-distant future. 

 

In 2026, Lynn Thizzy and Rushified celebrate these respective albums with a special show at The Crown, Wexford on Saturday 7th February
