Harmony of Imagination, art exhibition by Mary Wallace
‘HARMONY OF IMAGINATION ‘ a solo exhibition of paintings by Wexford artist Mary Wallace
Exhibition Run: 15th – 31st October 2026
Imagination is a game this artist loves to play!
Wexford artist Mary Wallace is delighted to present ‘Harmony of Imagination’ her new abstract work which will engage you in a game this artist loves to play – Imagination. Taking a new direction Mary paints purely abstract, meditative work inspired by Sōzō – a tiny word, spoken quietly almost as a whisper. This Japanese word has dual meaning – creation and/or imagination – which has no equivalent in English. To an artist these meanings are inextricably linked, as they use their imagination to create something unique bringing into being those imagined ideas.
Those who have come to enjoy her exploration of kintsugi vessels repaired with gold and her precious jewel-like Coastlines series will be delighted to hear that this work will also feature in the exhibition. Mary’s vibrant use of colour suspended in beeswax and the opulent pairing with gold is unusual. These paintings have a quiet meditative quality that draws you in and brings emotion to the surface.
Meet the artist every day throughout Wexford Festival Opera in the Business Centre Lobby upstairs in Whites of Wexford.
