Family Festival details announced for Saturday, 18th July
2026 – starting with calm and ending with a bang!
Duncannon Village Renewal has announced details of its annual summer family festival that will take place next Saturday, 18th July. This second year of the modern festival has received funding through Fáilte Ireland in partnership with Wexford County Council under the Festival Grant Scheme. It has also got significant backing from the local business community.
The day-long programme of free family activities will take place on Duncannon’s beautiful Blue Flag beach, its historical Fort, and on the Green in the heart of the village – starting calmly with yoga and ending with a bang with live bands and fireworks.

On the Beach – 10am: Sandy Soccer 5-a-side by Duncannon Seaview FC; 12 noon – Bar servers’ Beach Race for Perpetual Trophy; 1pm – Eco-Treasure Hunt and Beach Lab by SEA School; 3pm – Amateur Sand Sculpting Competition
In the Fort – 10am to 5pm: 18 Craft & Food Stalls, Face Painting and more; 11am & 1pm – Free Group Tours by Hook Tourism; 12 noon – Parade of Queen of the Fort; 12:30pm – Teddy Bear’s Picnic (online pre-registration required); 2pm – Pet Fancy Dress.
On the Green – 8am – Yoga with Carl Stanley; 5pm – Disney characters children’s disco plus fun and games; 6:30pm – Crowd entertainment with Seamus Long; 8pm – Live & Local Bands: Skin the Deer led by Duncannon’s Danny Ahern; 8:30pm – Duncannon’s own Blame the Burbon; 10pm – Fireworks from the deck of the Orinoco in the Estuary with Rocket Pyrotechnics
Festival goers are encouraged to get to Duncannon early as on-beach parking will be restricted to 120 cars. Others coming by car will be facilitated with an overflow car park at Wallace’s corner field at Ballystraw Cross.
Why not take the bus instead? Thanks to Local Link Wexford, for the second year in a row there will be an all-day Local Link festival shuttle service between Ramsgrange and Duncannon starting at 11:50am with last return bus leaving the festival at 11:40pm. This shuttle service connects with TFI Local Link Route 399 Hook Head to New Ross.
