For a day at the beach, head straight for Duncannon beach and its restaurants.If you fancy a visit to a beach at Hook Head Peninsula, you are completely spoilt for choice where you can choose between Dollar Bay, Sandeel Bay, Boley Bay beaches – to name but a few. Hood Head Lighthouse offers an amazing tour, which is well worth considering.
For the history and culture fans among you, you and your group can spend time wandering the historic remains of the 13th-century Tintern Abbey, which is easily accessible and features guided tours as well as an on-site tearooms. Nearby, you can wander in the impressive 19th-century Colclough Walled Garden, split into an ornamental and kitchen garden. Stroll through the trees away from Tintern and you will reach pretty Saltmills.
A short drive to New Ross will bring you to the 19th-century Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience, where you can board the ship and view exhibits and embark on a guided tour. Linked with this attraction is the ancestral home of JF Kennedy in Dunganstown. After your visit here, you can wander for hours in the incredible JF Kennedy Arboretum.
Back in New Ross, the Barrow Princess will sail you away on a relaxing river cruise to Waterford and you can enjoy a walking tour of New Ross upon your return, a perfect way to learn the history relating to the incredible William Marshall and other notable people and events in history in the local area.
