Gallivanting.ie – Guided Woodland Walks and Experiences.
Step off the beaten track and discover the hidden stories of Ireland’s woodlands on Gallivanting,ie’s award-winning Woodland Walk. Running from February to October, this unique 2.5-hour guided experience combines nature, folklore, foraging, history and hands-on creativity in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Led by local storyteller and forager Lorraine O’Dwyer, guests explore beautiful woodland trails while learning about edible wild plants, ancient Irish customs, the remarkable underground mycelium network that connects our woodlands, and the myths that have shaped Irelands story. Along the way, you’ll enjoy seasonal discoveries, try traditional nature crafts and uncover the surprising stories hidden in the landscape around you.
This experience is perfect for curious adults, nature lovers, solo travellers, couples, groups of friends and anyone looking to experience a different side of Wexford. Well-behaved dogs on leads are very welcome, making it a great outing for visitors travelling with four-legged companions.
Please note that while older children with an interest in nature and history may enjoy the walk, the experience is designed primarily for adults and is not ideally suited to younger children due to its length and content.
Come for the fresh air, stay for the stories, and leave with a deeper connection to Wexford’s wild places.
