From the simple pleasures of chasing a stick while taking a stroll on one of the stunning beaches on Wexford to munching on some fish and chips at one of the Duncannon Pubs who have lovely outdoor eating facilities.  We also love a stroll in Kilmokea Gardens, Johnstown Castle, Kennedy Park restaurant where dogs are welcome in the outdoor area as most outdoor areas in Wexford’s restaurants, pubs and cafes love to welcome your well behaved four legged friend.  The ever popular Wild’s Restaurant in Enniscorthy, is happy to open it’s doors and welcome your adored pet into it’s warm and welcoming surroundings.

For the highly athletic pets we recommend a hike up Mount Leinster where our friends in Visit Bunclody Tourist Office will be delighted to assist you with information on the many trails around County Wexford. Trails link

One trend that we are delighted to see more of in Wexford is that Pets are buckling up when travelling in cars with the rest of the family. For far too long pets have been overlooked when it comes to vehicle safety. They have been allowed to travel “free range” when going on road trips.  This is not only dangerous to them but also to the rest of the passengers. The good news is that an increasing number of pet parents are taking measures to properly secure their pets in their vehicles.  Pet seat belts, pet car seats, travel kennels, and vehicle pet barriers are among the various methods used. Stay buckle up and stay safe when holidaying with your pet in Wexford.
