BOUND BY THE SEA – Jackie Mitchell

 The Makers House is delighted to present our next exhibition at The Raven’s Nest Gallery, our light-filled gallery overlooking Wexford Harbour: Bound by the Sea a collection of new work by artist Jackie Mitchell

Working in acrylics and oils, Jackie Mitchell creates richly textured works inspired by traditional harbours, wooden boats and coastal reflections, balancing realism with expressive abstraction.

“The sea has been a constant, shaping my art visually and emotionally. I’m drawn to the ever-changing light and movement in the water, the weathered beauty of authentic fishing vessels, the contrast between solidity and fluidity, how boats, reflections and surrounding elements change with the time and tides.”

Alongside her artwork, Jackie presents a vintage photographic collection celebrating her late father’s life and maritime journey—an “Exhibition within an Exhibition” inspired by the very harbour views seen from The Raven’s Nest Gallery windows.

Join us on Sunday, 2 August at 3pm for the official opening, with guest speaker Jennifer Whitmore TD.
