Artist - Mary Wallace
" Making art is my passion. I reinvent the world around me with colour and texture. Alteration of scale allows me to present a new landscape inspired by the natural world. A world usually unnoticed by the casual observer. There is so much of the exotic in everyday life. I want to bring that increased awareness and sensual connection associated with a meditative state of mind to ordinary things."

My Place - Children's Exhibition
This summer, Wexford Arts Centre will host an exciting exhibition of children’s artworks. The great Pablo Picasso once said ‘every child is an artist’ and the Arts Centre is out to prove it with an exhibition entirely dedicated to the artwork of local children. The theme of the exhibition is My Place and children of all ages and stages of development are invited to respond to this theme to visually convey what their home environment means to them, where is it that they like to be the most, and where they feel most at home.
Masterpieces can be created on boards provided by the Arts Centre using whatever media young Picassos find most inspiring; crayon, paint, watercolour, collage, pastels, pencils, mixed-media . . . . the list is endless. Boards are available to collect now and entry fee is €5.00. The deadline for submission of completed work is Friday June 14th.
In addition to the open submissions received, the exhibition will feature some of the fantastic pieces created during some of the Wexford Art’s Centre’s Discovery Club, Saturday Art Club and various other camps and workshops over the year.
