Pond Dipping and Bug Hunting in the Raven Nature Reserve

Join the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve guide for family-friendly pond-dipping and bug discovery!

Join the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve guide for family-friendly pond-dipping and bug discovery on Wednesday 12th and 19th in the Raven Nature Reserve Curracloe from 10am to 12 noon. Find and identify insects and other creepy crawlies of land and water in a sunlit clearing in Raven woods, close to Curracloe's lovely beach.

Nets, jars, trays and identification charts are provided.

We will also look for tracks and signs of the many Red Squirrels in the woods and learn how a squirrel-eating carnivore has become their best friend! (it's a long story).

Drop in and join us any time from 10am to 12 noon both Wednesdays of the Easter holidays. Stay for as long or as little as you like.

Park in the Raven Wood car park and pass through the barrier gate to the first clearing. Follow the signs.

We are relatively weather dependant but as long as it's not awful, we'll go ahead.  There are trees to shelter under.

All our events are free with no booking required.  Ring 076 100 2664 or email wwreducation@ahg.gov.ie for enquiries.
