Seal Rescue Ireland

Seal Rescue Ireland is offering one-hour “Seal Feed and Enrichment Experiences” three times per day (10 AM, 1 PM and 3.30 PM). Participants should book in advance to avoid any disappointment and groups are limited to six people (age restrictions apply). They also offer a 30 minute guided tour experience for all the family. April-June are their quieter months so availability may differ. In their busier season, there will be more time slots available. Please check their website for Availability before visiting.

The ‘Seal Feed and Enrichment Experience’ is your chance to join our team ‘behind the scenes’ to take part in marine mammal rehabilitation, and help us feed and provide play opportunities for our seal pups in care! There is a €30 fee per participant, and as always, all funding goes to support hospital operations costs.

‘Seal Feed & Enrichment’ Experience

Advanced booking is required for visits. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment!

This immersive programme gives you the unique opportunity to see our adorable seal pups up close, get involved in their rehabilitation, and help us get them one step closer to being released back into the wild! Your one-hour experience will begin with an educational talk and then a behind-the-scenes tour of the hospital where you’ll assist our staff in preparing feeds and other enrichment items to keep our seals happy, healthy and mentally stimulated while in our care. You will then be led out to our rehabilitation pools for the chance to feed the seals, watch them dive and compete for fish, and develop the skills they’ll need to flourish in the wild! This is an outdoor activity, so please wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.

’30 minute Guided Tour’

This is an experience for all the family! Get involved with an interactive educational talk to learn more about Ireland’s Top Predators and how to protect them and their environment. Then join us for a tour of our hospital and meet some of our seal pups in the Kennels/Pools!

As a wildlife rescue and conservation charity, animal welfare is of the utmost priority, as is safety. Although visitors will be able to view the seals up close and feed them, these activities do not involve direct contact, and patting/touching the seals is not permitted.
